However, as mentioned above, I did end up plugging the RCA cables into the subwoofer left and subwoofer right ports. The general concept is that when the head unit is powered on, the head unit's e-brake wire receives power; this power must be grounded. From what I understand, it is prohibited in most, if not all states. The other speakers work fine, although I'm not sure if the ones under the rear shelf (if there are any there) work either.
I'd probably shut the sub down for this, so you can tell for sure if the other one cuts out or not.
