It turns out that while I was replacing my DRL bulbs, I must have knocked the main headlight swivel out of place, preventing the headlights from being able to aim correctly. The HID bulbs last ages, and when they pack up they generally do so completely, not just a little bit. New units are very expensive and carry a 1yr warranty. Or is there another option? Dealer has replaced a lamp ($215) a ballast ($850) and then again replaced the ballast, calling it a "module." I later found out it was the same part number as the I think the DIY above still applies. Still had the same problem so moved onto the ballast, same problem. Really enjoy your blogs and the detailed, clear instructions.
