To prevent recurrence of such problems, you can temporarily disable the touchpad via the Eee PC's hot keys or disable it completely in Windows Device Manager. Hot Key Turn on the Asus Eee PC and locate the touchpad hot key on the top row of the keyboard. This leads me to believe that the problem lies in hardward malfunction rather than software/drivers.
