solved Asus M5A99FX pro R2.0 doesn't have VGA port? because there's no onboard! Buy a HDMI->DVI adapter or cable and then plug that to your newer monitor. So, remove all the unnecessary hardware like HDD, FDD, DVD-RW and External card etc.
If that also doesn’t help’s you, move on to the next solution. My only problem now is that even though it works brillantly... I've found that if I crack open the case and move some stuff around aimlessly (PSU wires mainly) and replug the HDD/DVD it'll just start working out of the blue for It just seems like such a silly problem.
